Hi, I’m Suzie!

In October 2020 I took a break from housesitting to cross off number 8 on my 50-Before-50 List: Go Greek Island Hopping. Before I knew it, I’d moved to Naxos and become a Greek resident! The whole adventure spawned into a bucket list all of its own: to visit all inhabited Greek islands.

This site was created for me to share up-to-date info and tips as I follow my quest. My goal is to inspire you and arm you with tangible information so that you can make your own Greek adventure as easily as possible.

About Greek Island Bucket List

Hi I’m Suzie! In October 2020 I decided to cross off number 8 on my 50-Before-50 List: Go Greek Island Hopping. I went to Naxos and then Paros before heading back to the UK for a housesit. By the end of the month, I’d returned to Naxos. I ended up spending seven months there gazing longingly at other islands during lockdown. The biggest journey I took during that time was navigating my way to Greek residency, which was an adventure all of its own.

When travel began again in 2021 I moved out of my accommodation/house sit to make way for the tourists. As year-round homes on the islands can be hard to find I ended up island hopping (as well as spending a month in Athens housesitting a parrot!).

I debated at what point I could cross island-hopping off my list as complete. Although I’ve done that now I realised that it still felt unfinished. Item number eight spawned into a whole new bucket list, to visit all 117-ish inhabited Greek islands. (Hopefully, the new Census will confirm this number!)
